Sass de Stria, la montaña que vemos en la foto se encuentra cerca del Paso Falzarego, provincia de Belluno, y forma parte de los Dolomitas (Patrimonio de la Humanidad de la UNESCO). El paso de Falzarego ofrece innumerables oportunidades para tomar fotográficas.

El Drei Zinnen es simplemente uno de mis lugares favoritos. Planeé mi viaje a los Tres Picos con mucho cuidado. La Vía Láctea y el clima tenían que ser los adecuados. No hay nubes en el cielo, decía en el informe meteorológico. Cuando llegué a los Tres Picos el informe meteorológico era correcto. Ni una sola nube en el cielo, perfecto.
Comencé la caminata hacia este lugar. Pero el tiempo empeoraba cada vez más. Una vez en los Tres Picos, las montañas estaban ocultas por las nubes. No es el mejor clima para una foto de la Vía Láctea, pero fue perfecto para una foto atmosférica.
Ya había perdido la esperanza de una foto con estrellas y pensé en volver al coche. Pero de alguna manera, pensé para mis adentros, debería esperar, tal vez el clima mejore. Monté mi tienda y me fui a dormir, con la esperanza de que cuando la Vía Láctea esté en el lugar correcto, el tiempo habra mejorado. Fue así. Condiciones perfectas para esta foto.

Como muchos de ustedes saben, soy un verdadero amante del paisaje marino.
En esta toma, traté de compensar el espacio negativo con la presencia humana que observaba y hacía referencia al islote de enfrente.
Para equilibrar la luz que viene de mi izquierda, utilicé un medio Haida Red-Diamond Medium de 3 pasos ligeramente inclinado hacia la izquierda, lo que permitió un equilibrio perfecto de luz en toda la escena.

It had just snowed in one of the places I most wanted to photograph with snow.
So the next day, having noticed the stable weather, we prepared the equipment and left with the off-road vehicle.
Despite the icy road, the tires did their job and we managed to get there.
Before reaching the spot we hiked on the snow for at least 20 minutes, the snow was really deep and the cold was felt but when we got to the spot everything passed.
